Liposuction (from the Greek lipos – fat and English suction – absorption) is an aesthetic (cosmetic) operation designed to remove localized fat deposits on the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, arms and neck and chin. Currently, liposuction is one of the most common cosmetic surgeries.
Indication:
Areas of typical fat deposition (fat traps), for the correction of which you can use liposuction surgery:
- mandibular;
- subscapular;
- posterior side of the shoulders.
- area of the anterior abdominal wall (abdominal liposuction);
- “Waist” (side surfaces of the case);
- “Breeches” (outer side of the thighs);
- front of thighs;
- inner surface of the thighs;
- knee area.
Contraindication:
- chronic diseases in the acute stage;
- severe forms of diseases of any internal organs;
- oncological, infectious diseases;
- severe diabetes mellitus;
- problems with blood clotting and circulation;
- loss of skin elasticity.
Procedure
General anesthesia – recommended for liposuction more than 4 zones.
The scheme of the operation is as follows:
- the plastic surgeon marks the areas of future incisions on the patient’s body;
- the liquid (Klein’s solution) is pumped into the specified zones;
- through the made cuts of fabric the special probe which carries out destruction of fat cells is entered;
- fat deposits that have lost their integrity are mixed with fluid;
- the resulting emulsion is sucked off by vacuum suction.
This whole set of measures takes a long time, but to name a specific time period is quite difficult – it all depends on the amount of fat in the body of the patient being treated.
Types of liposuction that can be performed in our clinic:
- laser lipolysis using Italian Deka laser systems;
- classical vacuum liposuction;
- liposuction with aspiration;
- ultrasonic liposuction using the Liposurg Nouvag system;
Postoperative period
The patient’s condition in the postoperative period, as well as the duration of this period directly depends on the amount of fat removed – the less it is, the faster and softer the recovery. The time spent in the clinic after surgery depends on the number of zones and the amount of fat removed, from 3-4 hours to 1 day. The seams do not need to be removed. The threads used are self-absorbing. In order for the skin to shrink well after liposuction, patients are recommended to wear special compression underwear for 1-2 months. The effect of the procedure is assessed in 3-6 months.
