Breast lift

Breast lift (mastopexy) is a surgical operation aimed at eliminating sagging breasts and restoring the natural shape of the breast.

The main reason for the development of ptosis (omission) of the mammary glands is postlactation changes in breast tissue. During pregnancy and lactation, the mammary glands undergo several stages of their activity (pregnancy, lactation, full breastfeeding, completion of lactation). During this time, the breasts undergo strong changes. For example, from the first size to pregnancy, to the fourth or fifth during breastfeeding and back to the first size at the end of lactation. As a result, there is stretched skin, and the breasts look like “spaniel ears”. Women who had luxurious breasts of the third or fourth size before pregnancy, after the end of lactation, mostly face the problem of negative changes in the shape and volume of the breasts. We can identify such changes that lead to unsatisfactory, from an aesthetic point of view, the shape of the breast.

  • Displacement of the nipple-areolar complex down to the level or even below the submammary fold

  • Mismatch between the volume of the actual breast and the skin sheath (too much skin due to stretching during lactation)

  • Replacement of glandular adipose tissue, which has much less elasticity than glandular tissue.

  • Stretching of the ligaments of the breast during lactation

  • Scarring of the skin of the breast (stretch marks)
